At this time, people who want to serve as Chaplains would have to pay the extra money to complete the courses with The International Critical Incident Stress Foundation.  Each course is usually about $100.00 and you can receive CEU’s through the University of Maryland.  We have been recommending that people
who want to be involved in crisis intervention take the following courses in this order:
1)  Pastoral Crisis Intervention.
2)  Assisting Individuals.
3) Group Basic which is required to serve on an official CISM team with ICISF.
4)  Group Advanced.

I have personally found the Strategic Response to Crisis to be very helpful in organizing a response to the crisis at hand.

ICISF also offers specialized training for Mass Disaster and Terrorism; Working with Children; Responding to
School Crisis and more.
