Distribution for Paradise Fire
In response to the Camp Fire, we were able to set up a Distribution Hub in Chico that allowed us to serve survivors who came and got to “shop” for free.
We would ask the survivors who came if there was anything that they needed that they had not been able to find - the answers were usually nothing to do with what we had for them to take but everyday, simple things that we were able to help them find or purchase.
Some of our workers provided a young boy with an impromptu Birthday Party by purchasing a birthday cake, balloons and a simple gift while he “shopped” with his family. He told our workers it was “best birthday every.”
